Selling my Artwork

I am thinking about starting to sell my artwork. If I do I will post pictures of them up on here and do payment through PayPal. I think that's the easiest way. It might take a little time and work so I probably won't be setting it all up anytime soon. =P I have been in such a couch-potato-mood lately.

Some shots I took of my sister about a month ago. The day was soo hot and we had to trek through weeds and rocks to get to the spot. Ai yai yai. Anyway I thought the photos came out great!

In one of my classes, Print & Web Design, we're working on personal websites. Our teacher said it would be a good way to show our portfolio, resume, etc. We just started working on it so here's what the layout will kinda look like:

Of course it won't have the huge "Favoritism Photography 2009" copyright watermark over the picture. But yeah...

Photo Shoots?

If you personally know me, you know that photography is an important hobby of mine. Sadly, I haven't been doing a lot of photography work lately due to school and homework. :( Boo!

Therefore I am making it a goal to start up again. I really like working with people / portraiture and want to experiment with that field a little more. I want to expand my portfolio so hopefully I can find some creative people to work with for free.

Sooo if you are interested in working with me, that would be awesome! If you want to be a model, we will talk about and agree on a location, date, and time. The model needs to bring several of their own outfits, of course. I will probably bring someone along that will be in charge of hair and makeup. I'm also considering giving whoever participates a few free prints --- one 8x10, one 5x7, and two 4x6. And the model also needs to remember that the pictures taken are my property and I can use them for whatever I want.

I really want to do a photo shoot here and hopefully it will be sometime soon. I went a couple days ago right before sunset and at some angles the lighting was perfecto. Ever since then my creative mind has been working nonstop, thinking about the possibilities of all the photos I could do here! I want to do some portraiture and maybe even a few conceptual shots. Hopefully I can convince a friend or two to play dress up and model for me at this awesome location. =]

Haven't done any drawing, painting, or photography lately. I'm feeling the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I've actually been doing productive things instead of just cruising like I normally do lol. Drawings, Paintings, & Rough Work

I've been really bored lately and when that happens I resort to drawing and painting. Usually I just do sketches or quick watercolor paintings on a small scale.

Quick watercolor paintings, both approximately 4" x 6".

This is my kitty, Irie! I took about three hours to do this. I tried to do an acrylic painting of him before but I gave up on it and ended up painting something totally different over it. So I had to do something with him in it. This is pencil in my sketchbook, about 8.5" x 8.5".

These are both are watercolors and I worked on them for more than a couple minutes. The first one (relaxation.) is 4" x 6". The second one of the girl I actually painted from a picture by this photographer I really enjoy, Brooke Dombroski.

The last piece is a drawing I did late one night. I didn't have anything in mind I just started drawing and this is what came of it. I did it with markers and the actual size is 8.5" x 5.5".

Quickies

I did a few quick sketches and drawings but I haven't uploaded them yet. I need to scan them and then submit them on dA but I've been so busy lately! I haven't even had time for a photo shoot, neither planned or spontaneous. That's one downfall to the holiday season. Even less time to get things accomplished! Maybe I'll set up a time this weekend when I can go out and shoot somewhere. Take my boyfriend for an adventure. =]

Emo-ness

So I am in an emo mood. UGGGHHHH. I tried to cure my sadness/madness with music but it didn't help. Probably because my choice of music was emo -- Taking Back Sunday. Hah. It really just made it about ten times worse. So then I decided to make some art and that helped a lot. Then I came online to blog about it but I started writing a poem (if that's what you wanna call it) instead. It just came out and I kinda like it.

Clouds

Last night I had to get my book out of the car and walked outside to this...

Isn't the sky beautiful? I just had to snap some photos. This is a view of the mountain right by my house. I absolutely love clouds. Their different shapes and colors simply amaze me. Nature is so beautiful sometimes. =]

Cheap Colored Filters

There's a cool little photo trick that you can do with post-it notes. Simply put a colored post-it over your flash and then take a picture (make sure your flash is on lol). It's a simple way to add colored filters to your pics without the hassle of editing them on the computer. Cool huh?

Me and my little sister, Hannah, had a lot of fun with this technique last night. XD

The first seven are normal pictures, without the post-its. Next were taken with a blue post-it, pink, green, and then yellow.

Trash the Dress

I think it would be so much fun and a great idea for to remember wedding memories by doing a "Trash the Dress" photo shoot. I'm totally going to do it when I get married! Maybe for my one-year anniversary...if I still fit in my dress! =P

Simone Collins - "Fox" Series

I have been so so sooo inspired by Simone Collins and her "Fox" watercolor series. Aren't they beautiful? I love these pieces so much I would buy them in a snap and hang them on my walls (if I had a nice room/house to put them in) lol. But seriously...I feel so inspired to be creative and simply paint away when I look at these paintings.

Watercolor

This morning I had my three-hour painting class. We basically just had a work day to catch up on all of our oil paintings. I really wasn't feeling the oil medium so I came home and worked on some small watercolor pieces. I haven't painted with watercolors for about a month or so and after today I realized how much I missed it. I even put together a video of one of the paintings I did.

Bell Pepper

So I finished my second oil painting, which is actually supposed to be my third (I still haven't started the first assigned painting!). And I'm really happy with it! It's a still life of tangerines, a papaya, and cut bell pepper, all sitting on a black reflective surface. I'm probably going to do some touch ups, such as making the shadows on the black surface a little darker. But other than that it's finished! I just have to wait a couple months to spray a clear coat over the top. What do you think? Any suggestions for a title? =P
